New Orchard Systems Advisor Announced

Carolyn Debuse

Carolyn DeBuse has accepted the position of University of California,Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor – Orchard Systems in Solano County, with cross-county assignment in Yolo County.

Carolyn started December 17, and comes from the Davis Campus.  She has been in California for 18 years. She fell in love with apples and pomology in England. She did her undergraduate in plant pomology. 

All of her work experience has been pomology, with a hiatus in sunflowers. She has been working with prune development for the last six or seven years. Ms. DeBuse is excited about the challenges of being a farm advisor, and being a part of a great team.

Field Crops Field Crops
The Field Crops program includes crops such as corn, wheat and safflower. Yearly trials provide important information about disease resistance and yield for more efficient production.

Fruits and Nuts Fruits and Nuts
Welcome to the fruit, nut and wine grape program! Information is disseminated through timely newletters, grower comodity meetings and applied research and demonstration trials. Prinicipal comodities in the counties are walnuts, almonds, wine grapes, dried plums, prunes, pears and apricots.

Providing professional research and advice to support range livestock producers and rangeland managers.

Master Gardener Program Master Gardener Program
Master Gardener volunteers provide information, problem-solving expertise and educational opportunities about home gardening to Yolo County residents.

Norton Hall is a meeting room that is available to University and County departments. The hall is only to be used for meetings that directly affect the wellfare of Yolo County and cannot be reserved for private functions.

Nutrition, Family, & Consumer Science Nutrition, Family, & Consumer Science
The major goal of the Cooperative Extension federally funded Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP), is to improve the nutrition-related skills and behaviors of Yolo County youth, adults, and families.
