How to become a Master Gardener volunteer

To be put on the invite list for the next Master Gardener Information Night

Training courses to become a Master Gardener volunteer are normally offered every other year. Master Gardener Information night is held in September, prior to the training year. Information night is designed to educate the public about the Master Gardener Program and how to become a Master Gardener. The next information night will be held in September 2010. Training will begin in January 2011. To receive information on how to become a Master Gardener, contact the UC Cooperative Extension Office at 530-666-8143.

In the mean time you can attend the free Public Education courses until the training is offered again. The courses are taught by trained Master Gardeners and are full of information! It will give you a chance to see exactly what a Master Gardener does and to talk to current Master Gardeners. Call the Master Gardener secretary at 530-666-8143 or complete the information request form for information on course dates and subjects.
